Hydrocolloid dressing: it is a kind of elastic dressing made of pressure sensitive adhesive with CMC hydrophilic granules.
The hydrocolloid dressing is impermeable to water vapor, oxgin and bacteria; these dressings are not adherent to the wound bed and can be removed without tearing the granulation tissue underneath.
They are best applied to the wounds that product light to medium exudate or transudate.
If the wound is not wet, these primary dressings ay remain in place for 3-4 days.
